More server space

A friend of my parents got a new PC. I got my hands on the old thing and here is what happend to it:

At first I wanted to install gentoo on it. And get it running for my parents in their room. But when i checked the BIOS it became like 65 degrees Celsius whitout doing a things at all. So I decided to strip the thing. The first things I noticed was the Hard Disk. 160 GB. It was brand new. Installed in November when the old Hard Disk broke down. So i got that thing for the server. Got 2 CD-roms (1 cd-rw) for the pc of my sister and a floppy drive. And well that was about it. Not much more to do with that thing.

Now installing the Hard Disk. Since i was out of 3.5″ bays i had to replace 1 disk. The smallest and most old disk. But that was my main harddisk. So I had to copy the whole thing. A well what can i say about it. It is basically a lot of waiting. But now all the drives are up and running again. So that is a good thing.

As of the PC of my sister. At the moment kopete is being compiled and tonight it is going to do OpenOffice. And after that we’ll see if she is ready for linux :D
